It was no less than five minutes after receiving the email from Dina about runaway chicks that our nanny text messaged me at work to say we had an escapee. She said there was tons of chirping and some hysteria. I told her that Dina said that since they bonded, there may be anxiety if one is separated. Our nanny said that that was quite possible, but what she really heard was cheering from the box - "Go Chicken, Go!!!!" I couldn't stop laughing when I read this.
Our chicks are awesome - we love being their foster parents, and once a day, our children gently pet their little heads. They are a joy!
(And like others have written, the first night I should have just set up a sleeping bag by their box because I checked on them and the temperature and their water like 50 times! So darling!) I hope these photos get uploaded.
